How to Compare Health Insurance Plans

The Difference between Individual and
Group Health Insurance

Health insurance that is labeled “Individual” is designed for one person or a family.  Group health insurance is offered by your employer and is cheaper to purchase than individual insurance.  Just as with anything, when purchasing as bulk the price will be less.

If you are self employed or your current employer does not offer benefits then your options are to purchase individual insurance.  You will always have better options with a group plan, such as choosing between PPO or HMO, being fully or partially covered.  Each plan differs with each employee.  When deciding on the type of coverage needed, you can read some of these insurance tips before your venture.
