Home insurance claims in Cambridgeshire may be up after burglaries
Four Cambridgeshire households could be preparing to make a home insurance claim after suffering at the hands of burglars.
The isolated incidents happened within 72 hours of each other in Long Sutton between January 6th and 9th.
A police spokesperson says: “We have an ongoing series of burglaries in Long Sutton and Spalding sector. Extra patrols are in force and an operation, including covert tactics, has been launched to tackle the issue.”
The thief or thieves have employed a range of tactics – from smashing down a door to posing as gas salesmen.
Homeowners in the area may not be doing all they can to avoid becoming the next victim – and potentially losing a no-claims bonus on their home insurance by making a request for compensation.
The Jarrow and Hebburn Gazette recently stated that people in the north-east were due to receive a Know Your Home pack, designed to help protect homeowners against burglary.
